Web-Conference on Forensics under IBC, 2016 on 28/06/2019

The forensic audit has gained increasing importance as growing numbers of Preferential, Undervalued, Fraudulent and Extortionate come to light. The concern has gained traction as the need to distinguish between bankruptcies due to the genuine business losses or due to malafide intentions becomes necessary. The need to bridge the gap between suspicion and fact is best addressed by an incisive Forensic Audit of the transactions being looked into.

The Insolvency & Bankruptcy Code itself casts an obligation on the Insolvency Professional requiring a comprehensive forensic audit, where warranted. The code also casts a duty on the Insolvency Professional to report the preferential, undervalued, overvalued, defrauding and extortionate transactions executed by the promoters to unjustly benefit themselves or related parties.

However, identifying such transactions and collecting admissible evidence requires specialized knowledge and suitable technical skills. To facilitate this, the Indian Institute of Insolvency Professionals of ICAI (IIIPI) is organizing a ninety minutes hour Web-Conference on Forensic Audits under Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 on 28th June 2019 (Friday) at 04:00 PM for Insolvency Professionals and other stake holders.
